Second cohort. That was were Lorne was assigned to. It was meant to be his new family. A place he was meant to feel safe and welcomed. Something he didn't have. Was he meant to believe all of that? 'Hi! Welcome! Now you are here, you will be liked by everyone and we'll all give our lives for you!' Lies. Why did he have to be sorted anyway? If this truly was his family, shouldn't he get to pick to stay with the people he likes? Yes. But no, that didn't happen. Instead, he was ordered to got to a place to live. All the things that Lorne associates with the word 'family' were no where to be found. These people would never replace...the people he was watching getting killed.

He knew this was just a flashback. But, he had never had them before. Sure, he had nightmares about it. But, he wasn't asleep so it couldn't be a dream. How was he back here? Lorne tried to move, but his legs were glued to the ground. No matter how hard he tried to move 'em, they wouldn't budge. To his left, his bow laid on the ground, untouched. It was just out of his reach. As was his quiver stocked with arrows on his right. Why? Why couldn't he reach them? He took a step back and found out he could move. When he went to move forward, he was paralysed again. He couldn't move towards the people he loved. He couldn't stop them from getting killed. He couldn't get his revenge. The only thing he could do was walk away. Forget they existed. Pretend he didn't know them. The laestrygonian's left his fathers corpse on the floor and walked towards his mother. Time slowed down as it's giant hand reached towards her head. What was happening? Did he miss this before? The monster began to pull the head up. It would soon...it would soon...! He turned around and crouched down, hand over his ears and eyes shut tight.

When he opened his eyes, he was back at camp. What just happened? He faced the direction where he watched his parents getting murdered but...nothing. It was as if all that never happened. He clenched his fist and bit his tongue. Those giants...they needed to be wiped of the face of the earth. They would return from tartarus, only to be sent back there again. Lorne wanted to kill them more then any Cyclops. He stood still, picturing what he would do to them if he ever met another one of their kind again. The next time he met them, his bow wouldn't be out of his reach. A few arrows would be to far for him to grab though. The reason why is they would be in covered in the dust of monsters. Anger radiated off of him as he pictured the image in his head.
