Elodie had woken up to drool splashing onto her face, she rolled over her eyes still closed. The drool belong to her black Cairn terrier Finn, Finn was a loyal companion always following the girl around and drooling on her face to wake her up, Without hesitation Elodie sat up in her bed in the Forth Cohort barracks and looked at Finn with a big smile on her face.  "Finn," She exclaimed, glad to see her puppy.  "I had the best dream ever, (bark!) Now, Now, don't worry, you were in it as well~!" She laughed and stretched out her arms and gently picked up her loyal companion, holding him close to her chest. She smiled and looked out the window, Her fellow Romans were hard at work as usual. Their Imperial Gold swords glistened in the light as they fought with it, big grins on their faces with thoughts of winning their duels in their heads. Elodie sighed and rolled her eyes,  "Finn, I wonder why I'm a Roman..." She said, looking down at Finn who apparently found a comfortable seat in his owner's lap.

Seeing that Finn was too comfortable to even 'talk', Elodie picked him up and threw her legs over the bed and walked over to one of the windows in the Barracks. She saw some of the demigods finish their duels and one offered to race them to one of the Sword-Fighting classes that was going on, his friends nodded and despite their drained stamina from fighting they raced him their with big grins and shining armor plates. The girl sighed and stroked Finn's fur as she watched them, she remembered having friends.. Well, use to having friends anyway. She was the Black Sheep in her group of friends, she followed them around and sometimes even polished their own weapons and armor plates they did often teased her for her Southern accent and her lack of fighting skill. Sure, there were times where she cried at night but they were the only people that talked to her, so she decided to tag along with them. When the Tripartite attacked the old camp in California, a few of them asked for her help but as cowardly as she was, she ran away from the bloodshed and left her friends behind to die. She had always regretted not fighting any of those gods on the Tripartite side, she wasn't strong enough.. She didn't even know how to hold a sword for one. She wasn't Roman, she was a disgrace. She was surprised that the whole Council didn't shun her and leave her for dead on the cold streets.

Elodie blinked her eyes, preventing herself from fighting. She was sick of feeling bad for herself,  "I still have another chance, Finn." She muttered in a dreamlike sort of way; She knew there was a chance to redeem herself, placing Finn on the ground she walked over to her bed and zipped open her suitcase. She still hadn't unpacked, and it's been a year since the Tripartite attack! A year..? Maybe two years.. The young girl thought as she pulled out her day clothes and climbed under her fort/under her bed so no one would see her dress. She imagined a few fairies sizing her up with their colossal rulers and slipping on her dress for her even though she put the dress on herself, she smiled and crawled out from under her bed and stood up twirling around in her light brown plaid dress. She slipped on her tennis shoes and seeing that one of the mirrors weren't occupied, she twisted her auburn hair into braids and applied lotion on her face. She walked over to her bed and lifted her wet (From Finn's drool) pillow and grabbed a small pack of beef jerky, she tore open the pack with her small hands and tore a piece of it tossing the piece to Finn who gladly ate it. The roman demigod walked towards the door and opened it, letting Finn out first then herself.

It was a beautiful sunny day, birds were chirping and-  "ACH-CHOO!!!" A loud sneeze came from none other than Elodie herself. She forgot to cover her mouth, so all of her mucus just flew in a few Roman demigods direction. Lots of murmurs of 'May the gods bless you' 'Eww' and faces with disgust were in the air. Elodie murmured a 'Thank you' and quickly ran toward the arena, embarrassed about her allergies. Nature and Pollen were two of her worst enemies, she forgot to bring a packet of tissue with her so when no one was looking in her direction she used her arm to wipe the running goo from her nose.

Elodie and Finn finally made it to the arena, but there were tons of people there watching the instructor teach them about a few jabs and counterattacks. Elodie decided not to stay there and learn any of that, she was much more curious about the Armory area... A few of the Vulcan kids decided to take a break and walked out of the Armory room, walking past Elodie and her pup. After looking around to see if anyone was around the armory or inside, Elodie took a few dainty but cautious steps inside and looked around in awe.

There were many Imperial Gold weapons everywhere: From daggers to calvary swords, From spears to Staffs, From Imperial bows and arrows, and there was even a harp.  "I think one of Apollo's kids left their harp," Elodie told Finn as she walked over to it and slowly picked it up. She quickly placed it back on the table as if it was on fire, it was better not to touch any of the claimed's parent's gifts. She turned around and found an Imperial Gold Sword that was much bigger than her and decided to take it off of the belts, she laughed and slashed it around.  "W-wow! I mean, ouch!" Seeing that the weapon probably gained more pounds than her, she dropped it on the floor and begun to nurse her 'sprain' right arm with the palm of her hand. Finn started to bark and look around as if he was bothered by something or someone, but Elodie didn't hear him and kept playing with the weapons. With the help of a wooden table, She picked a beautiful Imperial golden bow off from the wall and took the sling. She has seen her deceased friend, a daughter of Juventas use a bow in duels and in battles, yet Elodie had no idea how she did it... Elodie quickly put the shaft of the arrow on the arrow rest in the bow and tried to balance it so it could fit, after a few failed attempts Elodie managed to balance the arrow crookedly and placed both of her hands on the bowstring and shot it. The arrow landed on the foot of the dummy and started to split.

Elodie was determined to hit the dummy's head with the arrow, her fingers started to burn from holding the bow and arrow incorrectly. She did the same thing and let the arrow go, instead it flew towards the entrance of the armory and flew right out of the door. Elodie shrieked, Was the arrow going to hurt someone!? The girl was too scared to find out, she leaned against the table and nervously fumbled with one of the arrows she had withdrawn as if trying to look busy, she was afraid of being confronted.. She waited for any further confrontation..

Smells Like Teen Spirit (Elijah) Empty Re: Smells Like Teen Spirit (Elijah)

Post by Elijah Emmanual-Wheelan Sun Dec 07, 2014 9:55 pm

It was one of those days where Elijah was in a stormy mood.  Jack hadn't stayed over the night before because he had to sort through some Centurion duties he was falling behind on.  And that was fine...the boy certainly encouraged his boyfriend to be a good Centurion, but at this point, he pretty much needed the older boy to sleep.  At one point, Elijah was fine working on a few hours of sleep a night, but since the son of Venus had started staying over regularly, Elijah realized he was getting jaded.  He had never been good at getting a good night's sleep, but his boyfriend proved himself a very powerful sleep aid.  Going from nights with seven or eight hours of sleep made the nights with two or three even worse, and the son of Discordia couldn't function as well with that as he once could.  When his alarm went off at quarter of six like usual, the boy was pretty sure he hadn't even gotten to sleep more than two hours before.  After shutting off his alarm, he had groaned into his pillow, not wanting to lift his head.  When he opened his eyes, his clock read 6:45.  The fact that he had gone back to sleep without realizing it drove Elijah completely insane.  It meant he wouldn't have time for his run and his morning training.  The boy made a quick decision...he'd go on his run and find time later on to train.  He didn't have to sit in the Principia all day, after all.  And he was pretty sure he was caught up on paperwork, anyway.

And after he had checked that everything was okay, Elijah pulled on some sweatpants and a t-shirt.  He hated training in sweatpants, but Venus had shrunk all his jeans to the point where they were far too tight to train in.  Even finding a looser t-shirt was difficult.  Grabbing the giant blue hoodie he had stolen from Jack, Elijah looked up.  "Gratias vobis hoc permisit," he mumbled shortly to Venus.  The hoodie was the only piece of clothing the boy now owned that wouldn't fit a doll.  And he intended to keep it that way.  The golden apple poison rings that magically contained his daggers were already on...the boy only took them off for sleep and showers.  It wasn't necessary or anything, but Elijah felt better with his weapons right there.  Gods always knew that demigods were never completely safe, though much safer at camp than anywhere else.  Although the boy had never been at the old Camp Jupiter, he knew what had happened there...and although his daggers wouldn't do much use against a God or Goddess, there were plenty of corrupt demigods as well.  Not to mention ones that would love to bring him down like Calla and Sienna.  Elijah was talented at making himself enemies, and that whole scene drove him insane.  For as much as Calla and Sienna hated him, Calix and Mia loved him.  Something he actually feared was causing a split in that little group, but whenever that thought came up, the boy scolded himself...it made him feel like he was making things all about him.

Right now, Elijah didn't want to think about that.  He just wanted to go get some training in.  That made everything better.  If he was lucky, he'd get to eat lunch with everyone, which meant seeing Jack.  Seeing Jack would make him less grumpy, which would be great for everyone involved...or not involved who end up stumbling their way in.  That happened plenty in the Principia, and with Calix still a little up and down, Elijah was giving extra.  He didn't mind, but he had caused too many legionnaires to cry when they came to him and he was in a bad mood.  That was another reason the boy liked to train in the morning...it usually kept him in a fine mood throughout the rest of the day.  But now he needed to let out some steam.  And training was always good for that, though straw dummies weren't much by way of opponents.  One thing Elijah always wished for was a sparring partner.  At least a regular one.  Sometimes Jack or River would spar with him...Calix once or twice, but the boy was mostly alone with it all.  Which was mostly okay.

When he reached the arena, Elijah took note of a few things.  Someone was running some sort of unofficial class...at least, the boy assumed it was unofficial, because he couldn't remember seeing anything about it.  And most of those things had to pass through him and Calix...all that order that came with being Romans.  "Bracchae," the boy mumbled.  He hated training when there were so many others in the arena.  It was another reason he went super early in the morning, when nobody else was awake.  Elijah wasn't ashamed of his fighting or anything, he just preferred his privacy.  In fact, the boy was an exceptional fighter...use of daggers wasn't too Roman, but it was what Elijah had ended up feeling most comfortable with.  And even though daggers weren't necessarily common for Romans, Discordia had still gifted her son two perfectly balanced Imperial Gold daggers.  With how good he was with Potentia and Ferocimus, Elijah was even more dangerous...though he would never use them when he could just use his fists.  Killing wasn't anything Elijah would do...aside from monsters and hypothetical evil demigods.  And he really hoped he'd never have to kill.  For as violent as the small boy could get, that wasn't something that sounded appealing.  The son of Discordia knew some people were okay with the thought...sometimes people even enjoyed the thought.  But he wasn't like that.

A noise came from the direction of the armory, and Elijah turned to see an arrow fly out the open door followed by a soft shriek.  The boy didn't like the sounds of that...he remembered one time when a Greek had found her way to the Roman armory and caused a giant mess.  Elijah sighed softly, not wanting to deal with anything that might frustrate him.  But in the end, it was part of his duty as a Praetor to keep things running smoothly, even if he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Like now, when he just ended up having to deal with something.  Walking towards the armory, Elijah hoped it wasn't anything too annoying.  Peeking in, he saw a young girl standing there, holding a bow.  The Praetor recognized the girl after a moment, as he was often able to.  Calix drilled it into his head to know all the legionnaires by sight and name and all.  And even though the boy didn't exactly have the brain or attention span to sit down and memorize a lot of names and faces, he was definitely getting better at it.  And it really was part of his job.  "Legionnaire Borealis," he said with a nod of his head.  "Is everything okay in here?"  Looking around, Elijah didn't see anyone else...probably just someone playing around with weapons.  Typical for a Roman.  But it was still best to check.

Elodie bit her lower lip when one of the Praetors of the camp showed up, there were only two praetors in the camp and it was drilled in the Legionnaires heads to know their names. But Miss Borealis doesn't stay around the Roman camp that much to know which Praetor was which even when there was only two and they looked different but that didn't cross young Elodie's mind, "E-Everythang' is fine in here, Praetor Kiril!" Elodie exclaimed, boosting herself off of the table that she was slouching on. He doesn't look like a Calix.. The demigod thought as she nervously placed the Imperial Gold bow on the table, Finn backed away from the door in fear and ran behind Elodie's legs. The puppy's whole body was shaking as if he had encountered the bitter cold even though it was sunny outside.

Elodie tried to comfort her puppy, but she was more curious as to why one of the Praetor's were here. But she didn't want to be rude and asked why he was in the Armory, Maybe he wanted to train? Maybe he wanted to be alone... But she didn't want to leave, the southern girl still wanted to explore all of the weapons in the armory even if all of them weren't fit for her. She didn't just wander here just to play with the weapons.. Okay, maybe she did but she felt as if she had a purpose to have a weapon just like everybody else. Seeing the Roman campers wielding their gladius' and pilums' (She had to admit) was the only thing that made her feel proud to be a Roman even if she couldn't fight or spar with them. She just needed someone to give her pointers on how to be a better Roman, how to feel proud about being Roman. She lifted her eyes off from the floor and stared straight at the Praetor (Who she still thought was Calix) Maybe Calix can push her to be better, it was going to be tough to ask him how to be a good Roman demigod and being straight forward about it was going to get her laughed at, Here goes nothin'.. The young southern belle thought as she put on a soft smile and begun to slowly walk around, admiring all the weapons.

"Nice weapons we have here, don't ya think?" The young teenager implied in a friendly and welcoming manner, touching the hilts of the neatly stacked daggers as she walked by, The Cairn Terrier followed right behind her as always sneaking glances at the Praetor as his owner kept slowly walking. Elodie turned on her right heel and looked at the Golden Imperial swords that were on one of the tables, thankfully, A short Elodie can pick one up so she did. She unsheathed a short sword and smiled, seeing that it perfectly fit in her hand. But gods it was heavy!

The youth turned back to the Praetor, "Now, if ya' don't mind me askin'," The girl slowly placed the short-sword back in the sheath and placed it neatly on the table. "What are you doing, in the Armory? Lookin' for a weapon as well?" The girl didn't want to overload him with her questions.. yet. She slowly walked around again, picking up weapons to see if they were the perfect fit for her or not. Sadly, she was making it too obvious that she didn't even have a weapon and she's been there for at least two years. Hopefully, the Praetor would recognize this... The oblivious demigod unsheathed a dagger and then sheathed it again.

She would repeat this routine until the Praetor would notice the pattern, She placed the dagger down and looked down at the table, her light auburn bangs hiding behind her brown eyes. "You know, there are Legionnaires that don't even have weapons.." The tone in her mood changed from cheerful to just plain sad. "Don't you think that's a bit disgraceful to the Roman name?"
