Alex arrived at the fourth cohort after just being sorted here to relax his days away until he could go home. He was a bit impatient to get away from the camp, he was having much fun in the rough of it all. As he walked into the cohort, he kicked his shoes off at the empty bunk. "Guess this one is mine" he said raising his eyebrows in a bored shrug. He twisted his body and let all his weight fall into the bunk. It's been such a long week he hadn't gotten as much sleep as he had hoped. Then just as he was ready to doze off he realized, he had not introduced himself to his new mates in the cohort. he sat up looking around to see if anyone had noticed his entrance.

These days, Izzy was getting better about not hiding from the world.  Things at camp were so insanely better than in the mortal world for him, and he didn't even need to hide most of the time.  In the almost a year since his arrival at Camp Jupiter 2.0, the boy had learned a lot.  He had friends...more than one, who weren't going anywhere, unlike the one, total, friend he had ever had back in London.  The Centurion of the Fourth, Sienna, had taken him under his wing, and was bringing out his sense of responsibility in preparation of him taking over her duties someday.  There was more and more coming up about his family...now that Izzy knew who his father was and all.  Even that was helping him get some leads on where his mortal mother was from, at the very least.  He had been following up some trails in the library, and every time the Brit went to comb through records in the library, he was pretty sure he was getting closer and closer to that bit of information.  He was free to be open about his sexuality, and no one gave a damn about it.  Everything was truly coming together for the son of Mercury.

And sometimes he took that for granted.  It was one thing to be actively thinking about that, like when he was spending time with his best friend Violet or training with Sienna.  Izzy found himself in that position a lot...just with a small moment of silence between friends or a break in his pouring over records and volumes in the library.  He would just think to himself...thank you, Gods and Goddesses...for giving me all of this.  But things were always in flux.  And there were times where Izzy found himself hiding.  They didn't happen a lot, especially with how much better the depression had gotten and all, but it happened.  It was one of those things that just kind of sucked.  Those times where the boy wanted more...even though he knew that was selfish in some ways.  Well...he thought it was a bit selfish.  He had so much already, it shouldn't matter that he find a boyfriend, or find out his mother's name and contact information.  Things would come in time...he just had to remember that.

Mercury's claiming gift to Izzy came in handy so very often.  The journal that would never run out of pages fit the boy so perfectly.  His father didn't really know him, but apparently he knew him well enough.  Even when he thought he had nothing to write, something came out.  Drabbles, musings, poems, disjointed thoughts, jointed thoughts...anything and everything.  And somehow, Izzy was always able to go back and find things he had written before, no matter how far back it was.  It always made a difference.  And in these moments, where he felt especially selfish, the Brit was able to write about it.  Which always made it better.  Today was one of those days...Izzy had been hiding in the back of the Fourth Cohort barrack all day, and he knew writing would help.  So he grabbed his journal from his bedside table, ready to walk over to his desk when he heard the door open.  The son of Mercury froze, especially when he heard someone move heavily onto the bed.  No one in his cohort would typically crawl back into their beds when they had already left for the day.  Curiously, Izzy peeked around the corner of his bunk.

It was someone new.  And as ready as Izzy was to go back into hiding, he heard Sienna's voice in his head about dealing with new cohort members.  "'Allo," the boy greeted the other boy.  This had to be the first time this guy was even in the barrack.  "Don't want to be much of a bother, but figured I'd welcome.  My name is Izzy...let me know if you need anything, aye?"

((Sorry it's a bit long...intros and all.  I'm going to try and keep them shorter for you. Smile ))
