Want adds: Rules and template

Post by Guest on Sat Jul 19, 2014 6:49 pm

So now that we have the option of multiple characters we've decided to make a little corner for want adds.
Want adds are like tiny advertisements for character that are important for certain plots you might have. Please do note there are a bunch of rules/notes underneath but that is mainly to avoid painful situations and make everything quite clear.

A few notes on the want adds:

Don't put up ten want adds for one character. We can only have three characters max so don't try to get half the site to make characters for the benefit of one single character. Also try to keep it restricted to characters that actually can do something here at camp. (Parents usually wouldn't get many threads)

You need to have explicit permission from the person requesting the wanted character before making it. (See next note) If you don't have it people will be allowed to file a complaint and have it taken from you. For that reason, we ALWAYS want to see a post that is both a request to take the character and confirmation from the person playing that character that they accept you as the one playing it.

A want add that is not played exactly as you might have wished cannot be taken from the person you gave it to so please make sure you have the right person. It wouldn't be fair to people to say: Yes you can play them! only to have the char taken away from them. The same goes for the person not being as active with their chars as you might wish.

You cannot put which godly parent a wanted demigod has. That still remains based on claimings. ONLY canons have a parent before they join the site. So you cannot request a son of Hermes or a daughter of Zeus. Only the unclaimed go.

Most demigods are only children. Yes, there are several that do have full siblings but this won't be extremely common. If we notice too many people putting up want adds for long lost siblings we might take that option out.

No bumping want adds, only posts to ask questions and answer them or offers to take the characters. Also, you can add as much or as little as possible in the want add. Leave most of it open or try to fill everything in.

The want add Template!!!

NOTE: In the title, please put the name and relationship.
Example: Joleen Finnigan, enemy.
Please keep it restricted to: Friend/sibling/enemy/complicated/(former) lover.

Code:

[center][b]Name of wanted Character[/b]
[img]picture of wanted character between 200x200 and 400x400. It's allowed to put multiple pictures/suggestions if the pictures are not too large. [/img]
[u]Suggested PB:[/u] Name Suggested face claim.

Age:
Species:
Nationality: Roman/Greek/Other (applies mainly to demigod characters)

[u]Plotline:[/u]
Here you type the short story of why you need this character. Maybe you want an old boyfriend to return that your char never had the chance to break up with (but your char did get a new lover) or maybe you're just looking for an old enemy that returned or a sister or brother that was left behind at home.

[u]Personality:[/u]
Here you type the things you need for the personality of this character. Perhaps the char needs to be stubborn or more gentle and forgiving. Try not to get too specific here, you want to leave some creative room for the person taking up this char.

[u]Relationship with requesting char:[/u]
Here you describe the relationship between the requested char and the requesting char. Example, ex-boyfriend, broke up on good terms/close friend/saviour. Things like that.

[u]Other:[/u]
Anything else like history facts for this character.

Sounds awesome. One question though:
Is this like a place where you can put like brother//sister? IE Adrain Spruit, brother, etc?

Yes, but only if this said brother or sister was previously on your character sheet.
Also note the rule that a character cannot already know their godly parent before joining the site. For example: my second account, Ronnie Riley, has a sister a few years younger than her. However, if I chose to put up a want ad for Ronnie's sister, I would have to put that her sister is a mortal.

Hope this helps ^^

Say someone's character has a sibling that was Mortal. Could it be possible that said Mortal sibling was really a demigod, and the character didn't know about it?

Probably only if it fits with the background. If both the parents of that sibling where human it obviously wouldn't be able to happen. If it's unclear whether or not one of the two is the real parent, then I guess you get to play with that as you like. Still, ask staff first.
