Felix had been milling about the barracks for a while now, ever since the wedding of Calix and Lúthien he had been looking more and more at his centurion in a way he would not speak out loud for everyone to hear. It was both a blessing and a curse that everything was overheard. It made eavesdropping so much easier and less of a shame to do it, but being overheard was something else entirely. Yes he would admit that he thought that she was very beautiful, but he wouldn't want to admit that he Felix Avital, ladies man of the legion was thinking about asking a girl out for the second time. He should still be seen as the ladies hunter was in the old camp, not as someone who had gone soft, or should he? Whatever his choice would be he still had to find his centurion and what better place to start looking than the fourth cohort barracks.

Giving the arena another sneer for yet again not having been able to find a replacement for his lost weapons he headed off to the bathhouse first. Appearing clean and well dressed before your centurion was just a form of manners. Not that Felix would have done it if it was a male centurion and he needed to ask something, but this was quite a bit different, a beautiful lady, who of course happened to be a daughter of Venus. Why did it have to be a daughter of Venus? Why couldn't it have been a daughter of Ceres? They were most of the time a lot easier to read in body language and expressions. Letting his hair fall free and hang on his shoulders he walked outside, while he did so he realised that he should probably have shaven his three day beard, but it would have to do for now.

Wishing that he had better reasons to go to his centurion an drop the words casually in the conversation, oh well no pain, no gain. She was smart and he knew that she wasn't like the most daughters of Venus, how different only time would tell. ''Legionnaire Avital reporting as requested centurion.'' he knew it was a lie, but letting it seem like she called him would make starting a conversation a lot easier on his part.

((It's sucky, I am aware of that))

If there was something Sienna had come to terms to about being centurion, it was that she absolutely hated paperwork. Now, perhaps she doesn’t have as much as the praetors did, granted. It was only a small amount, mostly concerning the legionnaires. Who went on guard duty, who got in trouble, who went where and did what. Small, trivial things that took a long time to document and usually made Sienna scatterbrained in the process. Keeping track of everybody was…annoying, to say the least. It would certainly make it easier if all the legionnaires of the Fourth Cohort communicated with her, or were simply always on their best behavior, but of course, no luck.

Sienna had spread all her paperwork on her bunk, and she stared at the mess now. Rubbing her eyes, feeling utterly exhausted, Sienna picked up a file and flipped through it. Ah…this was on one of her newest legionnaires. Felix Avital. Sienna signed and rubbed her eyes again, picking at her clothes. The boy was a very good legionnaire, he wasn’t a problem like a couple other demigods they stuck in the Fourth. Previous experience in the legion, good traveling stories, friends with Calix…and incredibly good-looking. Yes, Felix Avital was a good addition to this cohort and someone Sienna wished she could talk to more often. The girl was normally very forward with her thoughts, especially when it came to the opposite gender. And yet, she’d been reluctant to do so in this case. Well…reluctant wasn’t the best word. Busy, forgetful, distracted, not entirely motivated. Maybe those were better adjectives to use. Beyond that, maybe it wasn’t the best idea to do anything with one of her own legionnaires. It’d be unprofessional, right?

Tossing the file down, Sienna considered burning everything and going to find one of her friends. Calix and Lúth were busy, but maybe she’d find Mia. The girl was startled out of her thoughts by another voice, and Sienna hit her head when her head bounced up to make eye contact with whoever had spoken. Her hand automatically came up to rub her head, and she pushed aside some papers in order to stand up and match a face to the body she was staring at. Finding herself staring at the very subject of her thoughts, Sienna was temporarily struck speechless (oh great, since when had she ever been speechless?). “Legionnaire Avital,” she responded slowly. She gave an uncertain smile, but her mind was scrambling to remember why she’d called him. She’d requested to meet him? Having no memory of any such event, Sienna was racking through her memory. She resisted the urge to rub her eyes again….maybe she did need a break. “Legionnaire Avital,” Sienna repeated. Maybe she should play along, pretend she knew what he was talking about. Slightly embarrassing to pull someone out of their day for no apparent reason. “I’m sorry…but you’re going to have to remind me why I called you.”

She had been bend over paperwork and that was not good for your back or at least that was on his mind as he leaned against the doorframe. He had no intentions for now to be standing at attention the whole time he was still pretending to have been summoned, no now she was starting to look up from the papers and the sight of her beautiful face made a smile crawl to Felix's lips. Even though she looked beyond tired her face still did that to him. No they weren't dating, though if it were up to Felix they would be, or at least have a date. He was nervous about what he was going to ask, but it was better to be straight forward, right? At least that would be his approach, be honest and be rejected or be in luck and have a date with his centurion. She had been on his mind quite a few times these last few minutes alone already..

Ever the formal centurion he gave her an hearty smile as she spoke his name. ''Centurion Linslee, or am I allowed to say Sienna?'' he had no idea, but he would do so anyway, who knew it might be a bit better for what he was planning to do anyway. Shifting his weight from one leg to the other and changing the side of the doorframe he was leaning on as she spoke his name again he looked at her curiously. She was tired and not fully concentrated, or at least it seemed to him that way. He had seen enough weary and confused demigod on his travels, especially when you heard the sounds of monsters follow them closely, this were different monsters, this were paper demons. Now this was where the cat was going to come out of the bag, she had asked why she had called him there and she had not.

''I had told you I had a question for you, but it would have to be saved for later when I wasn't on guard duty.'' It was only half a lie, when he had been leaning against the gate, much like he was leaning against the doorframe she had told him to stand up straight and come to her if there was anything that needed to be spoken about. He had wanted to start talking right then and there, but she had had cut him off. By now he had a bit of an different plan. He walked closer and shoved the papers onto one big , semi neat pile. If I may be so bold as to say that you need a break. I also have an suggestion on what it might be, if you approve that is.''

Sitting down across of her, his leg twitching inside his skin, but not showing it one bit he gave her an nervous smile. ''Would you allow me to take you on a date, here in the forest, nothing much, just a nice break from all the paperwork?'' Yes he was nervous and she might have picked up on that, but the request was true and straight from his thoughts. She was looking great, smart, athletic and a very kind spirit, at least from what he knew. He started to calm down, what would come, would come and there was nothing he could do about it now.

It was amazing how much sleep (or a lack of) could change a person at times. Sienna felt out of it, to put it simply, and as a result wasn’t feeling as social as she usually did. A part of her wanted to rip up all the papers spread out over her bed and simply fall asleep, but of course that small portion was drowned out by all the parts of her resembling Venus telling her to sit up and focus on the attractive boy in front of her. It was hardly a choice, and it gave her a much needed excuse to ignore the paperwork covering her bunk. Sienna remained seating, choosing not to stand up and “even” the playing field (even if she was always much smaller than everyone surrounding her). Let Felix adjust himself if he wanted to talk to her.

“Sienna’s fine,” the girl responded, flashing Felix another smile as her body slowly woke itself up. The daughter of Venus was still fatigued, and stressed, but the presence of another person (and one she was interested in, at that) was slowly making her more alert. The girl tucked a loose stand of hair behind her ear as she kept her eyes on Felix. Her eyes trailed down his body as he shifted before coming back up to his face as he began to speak. A memory surfaced again as the boy continued to speak, and Sienna nodded slightly remembering that she had told him that (well, she told all her legionnaires that, so it wasn’t much of a surprise she had forgotten). “I suppose I can’t tell you to stand up straight now.” A half-grin on her face, the girl watched as Felix rearranged the papers and sat down in front of her.

As he began to speak, Sienna cocked an eyebrow at his first statement. She adjusted herself to sit cross-legged on her bunk as she was given more room by the sudden lack of papers. Sienna didn’t say much, but instead opted to examine the boy more closely. She (proudly) noted his nervousness and fidgeting. It wasn’t uncommon, as the girl tended to have that effect on boys, but it was always a pleasure to see that she hadn’t lost any of her old style. Always satisfying to see there was something about her that caught a guy’s attention, even if it was for something as shallow as her looks. With an amused smile on her face, Sienna listened to Felix’s nervous question, and she didn’t respond right away.

Although the girl could be a major flirt, it honestly never went beyond that. At one point, it had, and Sienna had been reluctant since then to ever let it go further. She hadn’t been on a date, casual or not, since before she’d traveled to the original Camp Jupiter. And while the prospect of one shouldn’t have intimidated her, especially when it came from someone she was interested in, Sienna was reluctant to commit to something as insignificant as a date. But things had to be different now, she supposed. She wasn’t as unarmed and helpless as she’d once been.

That internal debate didn’t last long. Just a date, right? “That sounds nice,” Sienna finally responded, giving Felix a wider and more genuine grin than she had in the last few minutes of conversation. “Don’t tell me you were nervous about that,” she teased, linking her fingers together and resting her chin on them. She was overthinking this whole thing, she knew. At this point in her life, maybe it was time to start letting the past go.

She had heard his question, yet she hadn't responded so far. Felix was looking her over even though it might have been inappropriate, he no longer cared. He had already asked her out on the date, however he did try to let it go unnoticed. The amused smile on her face was something he had not expected, of course she was a smart, beautiful and funny girl, but th smile had something about it. It made her face radiate with true joy, or so it seemed to Felix. He liked that smile a lot. His legs stretching out before him, his hands folding behind his neck. She had already told him that it was ok for him to call her f\by her first name and in his head he played it over and over, Sienna, he liked it, why did he like that name so much. It made absolutely no sense. Yet now he liked it and a smile was plastered on his face, before she had even answered the question.

This was going far better than what he could have even hoped to achieve. Having had a little talk with Calix about this kind of things, it made him feel like it had been time to give up on the skirt hunting, or at least tome it down a little bit and get serious with whatever he was planning/hoping to start with anyone. Plus Felix had started doing some research into the Venus family and had not forgotten that Jack Wheelan was an son of Venus, nor the fact that if the rumours were true that he was the boyfriend of the other praetor. Meaning that if he hurt Sienna he had Calla, Calix, Jack, Lúthien and Elijah on his roof and that was not something he had as an desire. Finally the words came across her lips and he found himself smiling bright at her grin. She told him not to tell her he had been nervous about that. ''Ok Sienna than I won't tell you that, I just have my reasons.''

Of course the unclaimed Roman demigod had his reasons. One of the most profound reasons was that he had almost never been turned down, but Sienna was different. He had met and dated Venus kids before, maybe once or twice. True they had been killed in the sacking of the old Roman camp and he had felt a stab of grief, but most of all it had mingled with the overall grief of every loss of that attack. The buildings, the memories, the friends, the family he had lost, all was gone. Now it was just a dull ache in his past and he needed to look to the future. He started to rise from his leisurely position and strolled over to Sienna. Taking her hand in his, he grinned. ''Shall we Sienna, it's not a long walk, but we'd best be going now before one of your fellow centurions or higher wants to butt in. An morning with such an exceptional daughter of Venus is not something I'll let them take from me. I don't mind making it an whole day, if you can keep up with me and not be distracted by the paperwork.

All this he said with an genuine smile and he meant it even though for some points he would have to be keeping up with the daughter of Venus as she had had much more time to get to know the forest than that he had had. That wouldn't be a problem he hoped and he was going to make the most of the time he would be given. ''Please don't think I'd be asking for this date just because of your exceptional beauty, no I have had plenty of more reasons Sienna. I have noticed that you are great with your weapons and also very smart given the fact that you have become centurion as well. there have been some rumours about you having a great sense of humour and I'd love to see if the rumours were right in an none legionnaire, centurion related time.'' Felix gave her hand a slight tug for her to rise and walk with him to the door. Getting out of the crowded and rule controlled camp was one of his top priorities for that moment. let the burden of being an legionnaire behind him for a moment and head into the forest with an girl he fancied. perhaps the hope was to be read on his face as he looked upon her before looking at the door and hoping no one would come barging in at that time.

Sienna couldn’t help but feel a little apprehensive throughout the whole conversation. Yes, she was very interested in the boy and yes, she was interested in seeing where it went…but past memories had a way of catching up with her at some of the worst moments. The girl just couldn’t forget what had happened the last time she had decided to try a committed relationship, and she couldn’t erase what had happened on the last date she had gone on. Watching her boyfriend be ripped to shreds by monsters in front of her was not something Sienna could easily forget, and that abject horror had stuck with her. The worst part was that it had been entirely her fault that the monsters had been there at that time. Being the cause of someone’s death (a painful one at that) was not something easily forgotten, and the fact that it had come about because of Sienna’s romantic interests did not escape her. The incident had turned her away from society for a while, and away from dating for even longer. Although the girl couldn’t help but flirt…there was a reason it had never gone beyond that.

It was usually very easy for the girl to turn boys down; there wasn’t much to it. Sienna had a very easy time shutting a boy down to prevent things from going further. If she didn’t, gods know what type of accident might happen next. Calla was always the one to have a multitude of flings (maybe one day it would catch up to her) but Sienna was always more cautious. The first time Sienna had talked to Felix, during his integration into the cohort, she could have never imagined she’d be mentally tearing herself apart because of her interests in him. A part of her was nagging at the girl, reminding her what happened last time. Another part was telling her to just let it happen.

The parts of Sienna containing her mother’s genes soon won out, and the girl’s eyes lit up when she realized Felix had taken her hand. Things were different now, the girl wasn’t going to let something bad happen again. She wasn’t going to let something happen to this wonderful boy who had never treated her with anything less than respect. The girl stood up and let Felix lead her away from the paperwork. “Please, distract me,” Sienna responded with a half-grin, not sparing the paper monsters another look. It wasn’t hard to blow off the paperwork when she was staring at her current subject of interest. Felix would be an excellent way to start exploring the notions of date and love again, Sienna decided. The girl had begun to learn things about the boy during his time in her cohort. As she kept an eye on all the legionnaires, she kept an eye on him, and knew he was a hard-working Roman. Hard-working, charming, and his common friendships with Sienna’s friends only gave her another reason to trust him. If Calla and Calix could give Felix a stamp of approval, then why couldn’t she?

The fact that they were going to the woods only slightly concerned Sienna. There were monsters there, which created a perfect opportunity to recreate Sienna’s last disastrous date. But something was different now, she supposed. The girl took a moment to grab her trusty daggers, before pausing and taking a moment to tie on her weapons belt around her waist. Better safe than sorry. Felix’s continuous stream of compliments only made the girl glow with happiness, as she was always pleased to get another compliment. She lived off of them. “I’m sure you’ll find me much more charming when I have weapons…it’s a lot harder to disagree with me,” Sienna teased, adjusting the belt once before pushing open the barracks door. She leaned against the frame and turned to look back at Felix, redoing her hair into a neater ponytail. “What do you say we get out of here before someone interrupts?”

He had seen something cross her face when he had mentioned the woods but he decided to let it slip. He still carried the dagger he borrowed from the armory until he had gotten himself a new weapon, the range wasn't ideal but it would have to do to fend off whatever would be dumb enough to get near. She had asked him to distract her and Felix's heart seemed to glow with warmth at her approval. She was gabbing her daggers and belting them on, meaning that she would be protecting the two of them as well, sending a smile to Felix his lips as she did so. Beautiful and deadly, the best combination if the character lying underneath wasn't as rough as Calla's, she was a handful in more than one way. Her temper was one handful, her weapon expertise the other. By now Sienna had started speaking again and Felix found himself listening to every word intensely. Cursing himself that he did so, why in the world would he be so dependent on a girl's words to be happy or feel accepted. It shouldn't matter to him after all those times in the old camp. Yet it did. ''More charming is hardly possible Sienna, though I reckon you're right that it is harder to disagree with you.''

She adjusted the belt and Felix had a hard time not to look at her curves as she did so. Her movements ever so graceful she leaned against the door frame and looked at him, sending a fresh wave of fire through him which he subdued in seconds. ''Yeah let's sneak out while no one has noticed my or your absence yet.'' He added with a wink. After all they hadn't even truly left the camp. He took her hand again and led her through the out of the way route he had found on his third patrol of the new camp. Hardly anyone truly used this path and it was easy to get to the gate unseen. When they arrived at the gate he simply stated. ''I have something to show my centurion as added information of my last report.'' This was hardly even a lie. He had stated that he had several good spots for ambushes if ever the need would arise that they would have use of them. Not that he would take her anywhere near those. No his purpose was near the tree line of the sound, perhaps even the beach itself later that day, but for now just the forest and a little clearing with creek and pond he had found.

''Well this is the place I wanted to show you. The blue in the water and the green of the leaves together let your eyes sparkle.'' Ok maybe that was a bit too far for the first date, but it was true. In his eyes hers sparkled like morning dew on a grassy field that was just kissed by the sun as to wake up for a new day that is dawning. He took a sear himself on a comfortable looking rock. Right next to him gurgled the creek and he gave her an come hither look. Now that he was actually with her alone on a spot that they wouldn't be overheard he was speechless. Apparently not as speechless as he thought he spoke  ''You seem to belong here, your movements flowing with the leaves and the water as one, though I do reckon your sight would be missed in camp Jupiter. It would be a dull and grey place.'' Why did he have to voice his thoughts. Oh well now he had said it he could let it stay out there, it would only reflect bad on him if he took it back now. ''Though could you please tell me more about yourself, how you got to camp, your claiming and why you agreed to come with me?'' yes he was quite forward, but that was him and nothing would change that. He just hoped that he hadn't messed up by being like himself.
