Nicola Delton

Short Character Description
Nicola is a compassionate person, she hates to see other people in pain or upset especially if the cause is an unfair one. She is very selfless and will strive to help her friends in any and every way she can no matter the consequences. She is very strong-willed and has concrete opinions on feminism, gay rights, human rights and equality for all. She hates anyone who judges people based on looks, gender or race. Nicola is also very logical. She likes things black and white. She isn't one to act on an impulse but rather think through the situation before acting. One of her faults is that she is very stubborn. Once she has decided on something, it can be very very difficult to get her to change her mind. Although she can be sensible and thoughtful, when with her closest friends she is care-free and relaxed.

When dealing with strangers, she will assess the person before daring to speak and even then she keeps the conversation short. It's not that she doesn't like make new friends but she'd rather have a few who were very close than a lot and not know who to trust. Loyalty is important to her and she will look down on any sort of betrayal. She is a very good listener and can give good advice on any sort of problem, big or small. When with her friends, she can sometimes be a bit silly and will let go of her serious demeanour.

She was adopted by a rich man whom she grew to hate. He was stubborn, which is where she might have gotten her stubbornness from, and he aimed for the unreachable dream of perfection, forcing Nicola and her two sisters to fit inside society's idea of 'beautiful'. From a very young age, she did everything she could to defy her Father until she finally ran from home. Her early life has had a huge impact on her, destroying her ability to trust easily and to make friends. She has never felt like part of a family and she hopes to find that feeling at Camp.

~mentor? -she has no idea how to speak ancient greek or about the history of the gods, she is very keen to learn
~weapons? -before she reached Camp, she used to do a lot of fencing but that is the extent of her knowledge about weapons. Anyone want to help?
~love interest? -a guy she can tease but will take her opinions seriously, anyone crazy enough to love her
~horse lover? -before arriving at Camp, she had a horse that sadly died. She loves horses and would be eager to see the pegasi at Camp

Current relationships
Robyn Walsh -the person to take her into Camp, Nicola really looks up to the older girl and would go to her for advice. She respects Robyn and while she would trust the girl with her life, her experience and age makes her feel a little intimidated.
Marísol Salcedo Castillá -a Roman girl who shares her passion for equality, best friends (they will be). At the moment, the two girls are intrigued by the other and will find a strong friendship in their similarities and shared opinions.
Flint Solus -He has helped Nicola with choosing a weapon and hopefully will teach her how to use it. She respects Flint and likes him quite a lot, despite his rather charming good-looks. She hopes perhaps that they will become good friends. (future close friendship/romance)
Gabrielle Fontaine -Although the girls are from similar backgrounds, a misunderstanding has the two despising each other. Nicola rather despises the girl for letting something so small blow up into something so big and also because Gabrielle insulted her and Nicola doesn't let that happen without a fight.
Tyler Kindall - an irritating clever boy who she kinda hates/kinda is friends with. The two of them have an immature prank war going on and get up to all sorts of mischief. (frenemies)

Extra:
Nicola can speak fluent French, Spanish, Italian and German and really loves horses.

Emma could literally be friends whenever... close or just acquaintances.

Hope can be a friend, also a 'mentor' though it might end up a bit of a comical thread because she's still relatively new

Also, forgot to add, sorry, but depending on what you want Hope could also end up being an enemy, as she sometimes will be a bit sporadic and may judge Nicola for being, as you say, 'posh' as she is a tomboy

I think Hope and her will get on well! She's still quite fierce and outgoing but every now and then she'll say something or behave 'posh'. It's because of her upbringing and she rather detests it to be honest ☺️ Would you mind if she could be a friend/mentor?

My character, Jenn, could be a good friend or an older sister type   I see that you've plotted with Emma, so Jenn and Nicola could have already met and started some sort of relationship ^^

Putting Nicola with Devin could be pretty cool. I think they'd get along on a bunch of different levels.
Also, the only other person Devin has to speak Spanish to is his boyfriend. I think he'd like having someone else.
