Coming Up Next ((Jespice Cane))[PG-13}

Sometimes it felt like anger was Elijah's main emotion. And as much as he knew that was dangerous as a child of Discordia, the boy just couldn't help himself. He'd gone through life being angry, and even though he had yet to beat anyone up at Camp Jupiter, Elijah had come dangerously close at times. No one suspected him, the short, effeminate boy who was a Praetor...had quite the temper on him. In the mortal world, he had beat up people twice his size, crippled football players, all of that sort of thing. Of course, a large part of that was probably thanks to his mother watching over him, but when it came to a fist fight, Elijah had skill. And something the son of Discordia was discovering was that he was able to channel his anger pretty well into training with Potentia and Ferocimus, his daggers. Somehow hidden in golden apple poison rings (something that had truly happened overnight), the daggers were deadly in Elijah's hands. He knew they weren't traditional Roman weapons, but they felt right to him. And somehow, the boy knew that was all that mattered. And if he ever found himself in a real fight someday, Elijah knew that he would at least come out alive.

There was a Greek boy...a son of Dionysus or something, who had been coming to the Roman half of camp and heckling Elijah. As a Praetor, and not wanting to cause bad relations between the Greeks and Romans, the boy had held back, despite the urge to jump the Greek and beat him to a pulp. The heckling was getting worse and worse (yes, it was common knowledge at this point that Elijah was gay, but most people knew better than to use it as a card against him) and the boy felt himself getting closer and closer to the edge. In other words, he had been going to the arena to train an awful lot. Straw dummies were becoming faces of all the people that had ever given Elijah hell, and when he spun and slashed with his daggers, they went away, leaving him alone aside from all the taunts he had endured throughout the years. Girly boy, fag, loser, freak...words that had always haunted the son of Discordia. As far as he was concerned, he was all of the above...and proud of it. If he wanted to be like everyone else, he wouldn't wear a ring on ever finger...or heavy eye makeup, or be who he was. Elijah was gay, and he didn't mind. And very effeminate...and he didn't mind (though he had chopped off all his hair because he hated being mistaken for a girl). But the fact that someone at camp would make fun of him pushed the boy to limits he didn't know existed.

Storming to the arena, Elijah popped open the poison rings with his thumbs, his daggers appearing in his hands. Twirling them around, a nifty trick he had taught himself, the boy approached the neatly set up straw dummies with ire, slashing an 'X' in the nearest one's chest. Breathing heavily, Elijah continued to slash at the dummy until it was in shreds. Stepping back, the boy took a deep breath, feeling slightly better already. But not good enough. The boy moved on to the next dummy, slashing at that one. Getting out his anger this way was pretty productive. It helped him train and didn't end up with anyone hurt. But sometimes Elijah worried he was getting too violent. Well, more so than he already was. The son of Discordia had always been pretty violent, made evident by all the fights he got into at school...but he had never been handed weapons before now. His consolation was that he had yet to hurt anyone in his new life here. That was definitely a good thing in and of itself. So maybe he wasn't getting too violent...he was actually learning to channel his anger. Taking it out on straw dummies was much more productive than breaking someone's nose.

A noise from behind Elijah startled the boy and he spun around, daggers in position. Not even taking in anything about the person, Elijah just blinked, pulling himself from his anger induced haze. "Are you out of your mind?" he asked, more quizzically than angrily. Surely the person saw Elijah attacking the dummies...and sensed danger. Because Elijah knew he was radiating...and most people stayed away when he was. From being around his sister when they were both radiating, it wasn't exactly a pleasant feeling. And the son of Discordia could only assume it would be worse for someone not used to that degree of chaos, especially radiating from one person. Popping open his poison rings with his thumbs, daggers disappearing, Elijah still felt rather irate, waiting for some sort of explanation from the person. Hands on his hips, Elijah raised an eyebrow, just waiting for something...anything...

Jespice was not a fighter. He was a lover, a wonderful lover, but fighter? No. Jespice's experiences in fights were limited to bar fights when he had accidentally picked the wrong girl to flirt with. Jespice could dodge punches, but the only time he had thrown one he had gotten the shit beaten out of him. Jespice's feminine figure didn't help much in a fight, good for speed, good for hiding, and good for flirting his way out of fights. But Jespice had to face the fact that he really should learn how to fight. He was a son of Cupid, so Jespice didn't have to worry about what weapon to choose, but he though a secondary weapon would be helpful. What if he ran out of arrows? Love arrows don't dissolve monsters. Jespice reluctantly walked to the arena. He had no weapon other then his bow and his magic arrows, but someone there would help him right? Jespice grumbled to himself as he walked saying things like "this is ridiculous" and "this is why I'm dating a son of Ares" and occasionally just "damn it". The son of Cupid didn't have any appropriate clothing for training, so he just 'borrowed' some cloths from Andrew. The cloths lookers strange on Jespice, who was wearing a muscle shirt and sweats. The muscle shirt showed off his not muscular arms, and the sweats annoyed Jespice, who was used to wearing formal clothing all the time. His golden hair was just long enough to force into a little ponytail, which reminded Jespice of a pirate type look. In his mind he looked ridiculous, but girls he passed still did a double take as he walked by, some attempted to talk but Jespice smiled politely and walked on.

Jespice didn't know what he expected to find when he arrived at the arena, but it sure wasn't a fuming boy destroying everything in his path. Jespice froze at the entrance and watched in horror and amazement as the boy tore through the dummies with his knifes, reducing them to straw. There was something about the boy that Jespice recognized, like he had felt it before. What was it? It was puzzling until Jespice realized what it was. He had felt it around Lúth and Kris, that dangerous aura. It was Chaos. The logical thing to do would be to walk away. The boy was so angry the Chaos emanating from him was filling the entire arena. The place reeked of danger. Jespice could feel the chaos effecting him. Why would he do the logical thing? That wouldn't be fun. Leaving would be to safe. Jespice stepped farther into the arena. Jespice realized he made a mistake when the boy turned on him. It was a blur, then the boy had his weapons poised on him, ready to strike.m Jespice yelped and his locket changed into a shield. The sudden and unexpected change took Jespice by surprise and the shield slammed against his chin. Jespice would have cursed if the boy hadn't of spoken first. "Are you out of your mind?" the boy demanded.

Jespice swallowed, looking at the other boy's features. His eyes were familiar, like Kris's eyes maybe. "last time I checked I wasn't..." Jespice said lowering his shield and rubbing his chin where a bruise was forming. "the question is are you? You seem pretty angry" the boy hand his hand on his hips, Jespice tried a charming smile. It worked on most people to relax them a bit, Jespice was friendly and approachable. "I'm Jes, son of Cupid... I have no idea how to fight and that's why I'm here..." Jespice half laughed and his shield changed back into a locket. He extended his hand in a friendly manner "it's nice to meet you. You wouldn't happen to be Lúth brother would you? You have the same essence as she does." Jespice added the last part hoping that the boy would relax when Lúth was mention, like Calix did.

((kinda sucks sorry Sad ))

The boy who had walked right in to Elijah's training was kind of cute. Now that the anger was starting to ebb away, the boy could see a little more clearly. Training clothes that clearly didn't fit right (a boyfriend's, perhaps?) and golden blonde hair...Elijah still stared angrily, glad he had put his daggers away. This boy was just about everything Elijah wished he could be...naturally cute and adorable, probably well liked, with a nice guy on his arm (there was no way this guy was straight). And with all his anger, the boy probably would have taken a swipe at the newcomer. Well he had a shield (that had just popped open at the threat...gift from a parent?) so anything Elijah would have done would have been taken by the shield. It didn't matter, the boy was infuriating just as he was. And the son of Discordia felt his radiating increase. That was bad. He doubted this boy would be able to attack, but Elijah could, and he could attack well. Trying to see past the fuzzy haze, the boy tried not to hate this blonde haired boy just from looking at him. The biggest problem there was that Elijah was in a hateful mood. He'd use any excuse to hate that he could.

Still waiting for some sort of response from the boy, Elijah narrowed his eyes as the boy spoke. "You just walked right into a chaos filled possible death trap!" he cried, waving his arms. The golden apple poison rings glinted in the cold sun. "You don't see anything wrong with that?" As the boy lowered his shield and rubbed his chin, Elijah let out a huff of air. He wasn't going to take out his daggers again, but at least he had room for a couple punches now if needed. But as his question was thrown back at him, the son of Discordia stared in disbelief. "Me? I'm fine," Elijah said sarcastically. "Angry? No, never," he added in the same tone of voice. The boy knew he needed to cool down, but his body wasn't listening to his mind. Still in angry posture, and feeling angry and radiating like crazy, Elijah stared blandly at the boy who could have just been sliced to pieces. It didn't make any sense, Elijah knew the arena had been filled with his radiating and this boy had come in anyway.

"Jes, son of Cupid," Elijah repeated with a snort at Jes's 'charming' smile and introduction. It was a nice thing, especially because Elijah had just nearly minced him. With a deep breath, Elijah felt himself calming down a little. "Do you have a weapon?" Elijah raised an eyebrow. "Because you kind of need one of those to fight with," he continued, rolling his eyes. Okay, maybe he wasn't completely calm. But maybe he could make up for his rudeness a little. Help Jes out some. Teach him how to fight a little. Not punch him in the face. That would be a nice thing to do, Elijah wouldn't want to ruin the boy's pretty face. Gods, was he getting jealous now? Elijah was pretty enough, had he not been teased about it endlessly all throughout middle and high school? Especially when his hair was long. The difference was that Jes could pull it off and the son of Discordia really couldn't. It was one of the reasons he wore dark eye makeup, it was a look he could pull off. It made him...not the pretty boy. Elijah didn't want that. It had to be the anger making him this jealous of someone who could pull that look off. The boy snorted softly. Not that he cared.

Looking at the extended hand, Elijah finally took it, shaking hands with Jes. "Great, you know my sister," he sighed. Gods only knew what Lúth had said about him. That was frustrating. "Elijah," he said shortly by means of an introduction. Looking over the boy in front of him, Elijah sighed softly again. "Get your weapon, I'll teach you some things if you'd like. It's the least I can do," he looked back at the dummies he had been 'fighting', which were mostly straw on the ground at this point. "I've obviously obliterated those, but there are more," Elijah look around, spotting a few. He looked at Jes expectantly, not sure what else he could do. Jes didn't have to accept his offer, either. Gods, if the son of Discordia was in Jes's place, he certainly wouldn't accept help from someone who was obviously out of his mind. Turning back around, Elijah crossed his arms, taking deep breaths and trying to bring the chaos energy back to himself. It was something he was slowly learning how to do. And this time, it wasn't working.
